The cost of renewable technologies has always been high, this expense is a deterrent to our transition from fossil fuels to renewable sources of energy. In order for these prices to come down there needs to be a proven market for renewable energy.

In February of 2009 the Green Energy Act came into effect in the province of Ontario. This new law introduced the microFIT program to Ontario residents. This new program will create local jobs that are based on a renewable energy market. This new market will bring down the costs involved with solar to a price point that makes sense to the average consumer.

MicroFIT - North America's Best Incentive for Solar Energy

The new microFIT program offers a feed in tariff rate of *$0.802/kWhr. This means that the Ontario government will buy all of the power you generate from solar at a rate that is guaranteed for 20 years. Over time the Solar Array will pay for itself and put some money in your pocket.
